C-TEC launches new waterproofing compound

The team behind CT1 have expanded their product portfolio with the launch of WT1 — a waterproofing compound that builds on the technology utilised in its popular sealant and adhesive.

WT1, Waterproofing Technology Number One, provides excellent adhesion to brick, stone, concrete, polyester, lead, metals and plastic and is described by the company as providing “the ground breaking enhancement of spur technology for ultimate sealing”. WT1 is a one step process, taken straight from the containers and requires only one coat application without the need for heating, mixing or priming. The manufacturer’s intent is to ease the currently gruelling processes that can go into roofing repair jobs — and with WT1, once applied, the product can be painted, rendered over or even tiled.

WT1 has been tested in real life scenarios on a number of roofs that seemed ‘almost beyond repair’.

In one occasion, the team sets out to tackle a terrace which leaked through the ceiling every time it rained. Once the surface had been prepared, WT1 was used straight from the container and its formulation allowed the product to be applied with relative ease.

WT1 can also be used in other scenarios and applications. For example, it can be used for sealing garage floors, as a tanking product that can be tiled or painted on or used for “the quick repair of exterior sloping roofs”.

The reasons behind this adaptability are in its composition. WT1 is a complete new formulated compound with a combined polymer and polyurethane union which forms a 100% waterproof membrane and remains stable with weather fluctuations, without shrinking or cracking.
