LUCKNOW: Another political protest obstructed commute on the main Hazratganj road as Congress workers observed 'Bharat Bandh' from 11:30 am to 2pm on Monday, which affected traffic in Kaiserbagh, Rana Pratap marg, KD Singh Babu Stadium and Nishatganj.

Sangeeta Bajaj, had gone to admit an ailing relative to KGMU trauma centre when near University road she got stranded for an hour. She said, "There is a hospital on the stretch and before protests are organised, there should be a proper diversion plan, but police pay no heed to our problems."
Vijay Kumar, who had to board a train at Charbagh said, "I got stranded for over an hour on Hazratganj crossing. It is becoming increasingly difficult to commute in Lucknow these days."
Anuj Srivastava, a driver ferrying schoolchildren said traffic jam has become a routine. "Children who are hungry after school have to wait inside the van, but authorities are hardly bothered," he told TOI.
"I got stuck in traffic jam on Kaiserbagh for two hours," said Varun Sinha, a delivery boy with a courier company, adding that it is sometimes a rally and sometimes a protest while policeman remain mute spectators.
