Union Minister M VenkaiahNaidu today hit out at the Opposition parties saying he was unable to understand why they are not ready to start the debate on demonetisation in both Houses of the Parliament even after being told that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ready to speak on the issue.
Speaking to media persons in the capital Venkiah Nadu said he was unable to understand why several Opposition parties are not ready for debate on demonetisation and added that the aakrosh rally by the Opposition parties have already flopped.
Yesterday, while the Left parties had called for bandh in several states, Congress and other Opposition parties apart from Janata Dal (United) had observed ‘Jan Akrosh Diwas’ and organised protest across the country in protest against the way the government banned high valued notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 on November 8, stressing it was done to curb flow of black money in the country.
During his address to the nation, while informing the country of the decision Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given time till December 30 for the people of the country to deposit their old notes. After the4 order long queues were seen outside ATMs and banks in the hope of either withdrawing or depositing money. Most of the banks are still accepting old notes but many still run out of currency notes.
Since the Winter session of the Parliament, not much debate was seen in the Prliament on the issue due to repeated adjournments.
