The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity’s 2014 edition has just released the shortlists for four more categories - Media, Mobile, Outdoor and Press Lions. India has 35 shortlists combined across all four of these categories.
The detailed list of shortlisted entries is as below:
Media shortlist
India has eight shortlists in the Media Lions category as opposed to just two last year.
Ogilvy India has two shortlists in this category, both for Akanksha Foundation’s ‘Message Barter’ campaign under ‘Use of Social Platforms’ and ‘Charities’ each.
PHD India, too, has two shortlists under ‘Use of Audio’ and ‘Use of Mobile Devices’ for its ‘Kaan Khajura Tesan’ campaign created for Hindustan Unilever.
JWT India has one shortlist for Nike Cricket’s ‘Make Every Yard Count’ campaign under ‘Use of Social Platforms’.
McCann Worldgroup has a shortlist under ‘Charities’ for its ‘Share My Dabba’ campaign for ‘Happy Life Welfare’.
Madison Media, too, got a shortlist for Cadbury India Hall’s ‘Mobile Breathmints’ campaign under ‘Use of Mobile Devices’.
Lastly, Cheil India’s campaign ‘Halonix Safe City Project’ for Halonix Lighting Solutions has a shortlist for ‘Use of Outdoor’.
Press shortlist
Surprisingly, Indian agencies have only six shortlists this year in the Press Lions category. Last year, this number was as high as 37.
The Press Lions 2014 shortlist is divided between Grey India and JWT India.
Grey India has three shortlists for P&G’s entries ‘Choo Choo’, ‘Remote Control’ and ‘Camera’ for Duracell Batteries under ‘Household: Other’.
JWT India also has three shortlists under ‘Home Appliances & Furniture’ for Godrej Security Solutions’ ‘House’, ‘Antique Store’ and ‘Music Store’ entries.
Mobile shortlist
India has one shortlist this year in the Mobile category. No entries made it to the shortlists in 2013 and 2012.
PHD India got India’s sole shortlist for Hindustan Unilever’s ‘Kaan Khajura Tesan’ campaign for ‘Response/Real Time Activity’ in this category.
Outdoor shortlist
20 entries make up Indian shortlists in the Outdoor category. Last year, the country had a whopping 43 shortlists, making this year’s shortlisted entries less than 50% as compared to those of last year. McCann Worldgroup leads 2014’s Outdoor shortlists with a total of 12
McCann Worldgroup has a total of 12 shortlists spread across two campaign in this category.
The agency’s entries ‘Tangerine’, ‘Mango’ and ‘Pear’ for Perfetti Van Melle’s Big Babol have two shortlists each under ‘Foods’ and ‘Foods (Craft)’.
McCann’s entries ‘Cat’, ‘Bear’ and ‘Camel’ for Premier Tissues’ Kitchen Tissues have two shortlists each under ‘Household’ and ‘Household (Craft)’ categories as well.
Ogilvy India has three shortlists under ‘Entertainment & Leisure’ for its entries ‘John’, ‘Kevin’ and ‘Mark’ for Mattel Toys’ Hot Wheels.
