CAT 2016: Important things to remember for Computer Based Test
The Computer Based Test (CBT) exam were introduced in Common Admission Tests last year. While there was a paper and pen option available till last year, this year the CAT 2016 would strictly be CBT. As aspirants for the top IIMs get ready with last minute preparations, there are important things to keep in mind in regards the format of examination. More importantly, since the exam would be entirely computer based and not internet based, candidates must keep this things in mind while attempting their CAT 2016.

First of all, aspirants need to note that CAT is a computer based test which will consists of 100 objective type questions. There will be 3 sections in the exam which will include Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC), and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DI & LR). This CAT 2016 exam will be conducted every year by IIM Bangalore. Aspirants are also required to note that in case they face any difficulty while appearing for the CBT test, they can go to the invigilator for clearing any doubts or clarification.

Candidates are required to note that they will be allotted exactly 60 minutes for answering questions in each section and they cannot switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section. Aspirants can go through the tutorial to understand the format of the examination which will be available on the CAT website from October 18, 2016. Candidates are also advised to work on the tutorials which are available on the  official website of CAT, well in advance. In 2015, there were some technical and server issues which  the candidates had to face. For those aspirants appearing for CAT 2016 exam, it would be helpful if they appear for mock tests. The mock test will help the candidates who appear for  CAT 2016 exam. The CAT 2016 exam is mandatory for admission to 100 management institutes across India for the for the business administration programs.. The management institute include reputed institutions like Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), S.P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Management Development Institute (Gurgoan), International Management Institute (IMI), National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Jamanlal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) and many others.  The CAT 2016 admission process includes Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 was conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) on November 29, 2016.
