Laois role for Moran

Former Limerick captain Ollie Moran has been appointed as coach to the Laois hurlers.
O'Moore County manager Eamonn Kelly confirmed the news yesterday as he looks to complete his backroom team.
Behind the scenes, Kelly is still working on the appointment of one more selector but the former Kerry and Offaly boss informed the Laois players over the weekend that Moran is coming on board.
Moran, who runs his own financial services business based in Limerick city, was a selector with the Limerick U-21 hurlers in 2012 and was appointed as coach with Tipperary club side Borris-Ileigh in 2014.
Earlier this year, 41-year-old Moran rolled back the years when he returned to club action with Ahane but he has now made a return to the inter-county scene, alongside Tipperary man Kelly in Laois.
Moran retired from inter-county hurling in 2009 after 12 years in Limerick colours and as well as Kelly, he will work alongside former Tipp captain Conor Gleeson.
