Devastating fire in Poshana forests along Mughal Road

POONCH, Nov 28: The forest fire along Mughal Road in Poshana area of Surankote Range in district Poonch has caused extensive damage to the green gold.
Sources said that fire started in Compartment No. 113, falling in Poshana area about 8 to 10 km short of Peer Gali, two days ago. It engulfed the major portion of the Deodar Forest area of Poshana in two days. Many standing and fallen trees said to have been damaged in the devastating fire. The wild life has also been affected with it.
Today CCF Jammu Roshan Jaggi along with CF West Circle, Qamar Din and DFO Poonch Anwar Shah also visited the area and monitored the operation carried out by FPF and Territorial staff of Surankote led by Range officer Nissar. The CF West Circle claimed that there was no much loss to the green gold and the fire has been contained now.
