Abohar: PPCC spokesperson Sunil Jakhar on Monday said the state government’s confession that Khalistan Liberation Force chief Harminder Singh Mintoo was in touch with the ISI “makes it a fit case for the CBI probe the jailbreak”. He said the government could not escape the responsibility by blaming Pakistan. “If the government was aware of such activities, why it did not take corrective steps,” he asked. He demanded the dismissal of the Akali-BJP government over the “collapse” of the law and order and the imposition of the President’s Rule in the state. Jakhar said despite repeated warnings, the government had not taken any measures to prevent the use of mobile phones inside jails. He also referred to too much Akali interference in the functioning of the jails, which “have been turned into the camp offices of the Akali Dal”. oc
