A DAY after Nabha jailbreak, Jaswinder Kaur, the mother of gangster Vicky Gounder, urged the police to “arrest him as soon as possible.”
Jaswinder and her husband Mehal Singh are residents of Sarawan Bodla village in Muktsar district.

As per police records, there are 6 cases against Gounder. In 2013, he was booked for a highway robbery in Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan. In June the same year, Amritsar police booked him for robbing Rs 45 lakh from a man. Gounder was also booked in the murder case of gangster Sukha Kahlwan for which he had been arrested in December 2015 from Tarn Taran. He is alleged to have been involved in the murder of another gangster, Happy Deora, as well.
Gurpreet Singh Sekhon, who also escaped on Sunday, is from Mudki village in Ferozepur. He is named in 15 FIRs on charges of robbery, snatching, murder, attempt to murder, and Arms Act, said Ferozepur DSP Palwinder Singh. His grandfather Sucha Singh also had cases under NDPS Act. The gangster has 20 acres in his village and a house where his parents and wife stay along with Sucha Singh. Soon after news of the jailbreak broke, Sekhon’s family members locked their house and fled, the police said.
