Under a broad plan that the Czech government approved on Monday, the Czech National Security Office (NBU) will rebuild a part of former barracks in Cerne Pole, Brno into a new seat of the National Cyber Security Center for up to 400 employees.

The government approved the proposal of building a new cyber security center with the aim to strengthen the national protection against cyberattacks, said Czech government spokesman Martin Ayrer on his twitter.

The construction of the new cyber security centre is included in the document called Development of the capacities and capabilities of the NBU's National Cyber Security Centre until 2025.

The centre is to be built in 2018-2023. With the new center, the NBU will form rapid reaction teams within the GovCERT government security team, introduce permanent technical support and a call center, tackle incidents and construct specialised workplaces for individual branches.

The National Cyber Security Centre will be able to establish an expert laboratory and a training centre, carry out security audits and build protected data centres.

The Czech National Cyber Security Centre has 42 employees at present, while it will have 58 employees in 2018, including administrative support. Endit
