Hisar MP raises Rakhigarhi issue in LS
Hisar, November 28
Union Culture and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma said today that a proposal to develop the ancient site of Rakhigarhi, which is one of the oldest Harappan sites in the country, was under consideration.
The minister was responding to INLD MP Dushyant Chautala, who raised the issue of Rakhigarhi in Lok Sabha today.
Dushyant had asked the minister about the Centre’s proposed plans to develop the site, which is of international significance. He said he had also been assured that a committee would carry out a survey of the site and submit a report on it. “But so far, no work has been started at the site,” the MP told the minister. The minister said a committee had been formed, which was studying the project of Rakhigarhi. “The habitation at the site is creating some problems. I will soon provide details of the project,” he added. — TNS
