All Saints High School came all guns blazing at Sreenidhi International School to win the VVS Cup Under-14 Inter-schools cricket tournament in Hyderabad. Put in to bat in the final, All Saints rode on P. Shiva’s brilliant 78 from 103 to put up 176 runs on the board. Sreenidhi’s batsmen failed to withstand pressure as P. Shiva ripped into their batting line-up by snaring 5/13 to pack the entire team for a mere 96 to signal a 79-run win.
Shiva swept the awards too. He was adjudged the Best Batsman as well as Player of the Tournament for his 183 runs and 10 wickets in 4 matches while P. Durga Balaji from HPS Ramanthapur clinched the Best Bowler award for his 10 for 8 in three matches. Brief scores: All Saints High School 176/6 in 40 overs (P.
