New Delhi: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal in Delhi on Monday expressed support to the Centre’s demonetisation policy and said they are going to train their cadre in spreading awareness about 'a cashless economy'.
The two organisations expressed their support on the day many opposition parties took out protest rallies against the move.
The outfits boast of having 24 lakh members who can spread out with the message of cashless transactions with one person to train 10 in adapting to change.
"Bajrang Dal will soon launch a Cashless Transaction Movement, opposition got no support in the protests as you see the roads are empty," said Dr Surendra Jain, International Joint Secretary General, VHP.
"We have decided to take necessary steps to train our cadre on this issue who will train people on Cashless transactions. Today, even gurudakshina is being given digitally so what's the harm? The problem is that people are hesitant of change and fear fraud in digital payments. We will inculcate confidence in the move. All you need is a phone, bank account and net connection to get down with it. Also, we have a highest number of youth participation we would like to use it to have desired effects of demonetisation," he added.
He said that this step is important to curb black money, terrorism and smuggling. "...alone is not the responsibility of the government.
