The drift of buyers from wealthy Kensington & Chelsea continues to neighbouring Fulham, where a fresh wave of riverside housing is attracting those searching for “affordable prime”.

Waterfront developments west of Wandsworth Bridge have swept away breweries and factories for new flats and houses. Fulham Riverside is perhaps the best placed, between Hurlingham Park and Peterborough Estate.

On a site of more than eight acres, the 401-home scheme launches a wide riverside promenade, landscaped communal gardens and a refurbished jetty with a new-build marketing suite that will become an environmental and education centre for river ecology.

Residents have the use of outdoor and indoor gyms and a badminton court.

Apartment blocks are set at right angles to the Thames to increase the number of flats with river views. Five-storey townhouses overlooking the water have lifts to each floor and start at £3.9 million. Call 020 7751 3999.
