Drawing the attention of fans and the industry, the Meesa Madhavan couple tied the knot during a private ceremony in Kochi on Friday. The wedding ended years of rumours about his estranged relationship with his former wife Manju Warrier. Dileep and Manju, who got married in 1998, separated in 2014. The two even have a daughter. However, Dileep refused to call Kavya, the reason behind his breakup. He also maintained that the real reason behind his failed marriage to Manju would hurt many people’s lives.

Dileep, while speaking about his decision, urged the media to not show the relationship in a bad light.

“The only crime that we have committed is that we have acted in some 20 films together… but she has always been a victim of gossip and has been portrayed as being responsible for the breakup of my marriage. These gossips pop up whenever my film is due for release,” Dileep had said.

Kavya also echoed similar sentiments. “I only request you all to pray for our happy life and our family,” she said.

The news about their wedding also comes at a time when both the actors are celebrating their 25th anniversary in Malayalam film industry. They have acted together in 21 movies.

Kavya was earlier married to actor Nishal Chandra. However, that marriage was short-lived. Kavya debuted as a leading lady with 1999 film Chandranudikkunna Dikhil, at the age of 14. The movie had Dileep in the lead role.
