Naya Shakti Party Nepal and Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal have demanded the national problems be rightfully addressed by the constitution amendment proposal.

A joint statement issued by Naya Shakti chief Baburam Bhattarai and Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Chairman Upendra Yadav said failure to address the current problems through constitution amendment will not resolve the national crisis and could raise questions about the acceptability and implementation of the constitution. This will push the country towards the path of crisis and instability instead of peace and stability, the statement reads.

The two leaders said the constitution amendment proposal has drawn their attention and urged it should include issues relating to national identity, federalism with rights, full proportional representative Parliament, directly elected presidential system, proportional inclusion in all state bodies, among others.

At time when talks about unity between the two parties are doing rounds, issue of a joint statement by the two leaders have been taken in a meaningful manner.
