Fashion Face Off: Sona or Soha? Who’s your favorite Grunge Chick?

Fashion Face-off's between B-town divas are awkward but as fashion aficionados, we cannot help but wonder and analyze as their stylists pull off similar fashion coupes!

There’s nothing more infuriating for a girl than to spot another girl wearing the exact same dress at an event or a party. A girl dons a chic outfit thinking, “Oh boy! I am so going to nail this look!” But imagine the awkwardness when you spot someone dressed similarly! So uncool! Whilst we are mere mortals, Bollywood stars too face such awkward situations and this leads to the famed Fashion Face Off! While looking oh so pretty is quintessential, they often fall prey to what is called- A Stylist Malfunction. While wardrobe malfunctions are passé, stylist malfunctions are the newest wrinkle. The world of Bollywood, obsessed with great looks courtesy these famed celeb stylists are pitted against each other when they don similar outfits. Recently, Sonakshi Sinha and Soha Ali Khan were snapped at separate events,both sporting the grunge look! Sonakshi Sinha was snapped with her co-stars from Force 2 to celebrate the success of the movie, despite the demonetization woes. Soha was snapped with hubby Kunal Kheemu, brother Saif Ali Khan and Alia Bhatt at Adoptathon, where pet lovers chose from over 150 Indian breed pups and kittens for adoption. As these two fashionistas donned a similar grunge avatar, we cannot help but analyze with our roving fashion eye! The grunge look is  epitomized and immortalized  in bands like Nirvana , also conveys an “I don’t care” attitude. It is characterized by a classic unkempt look and can be achieved by donning graphic tees or tank tops, ripped denim, layering and steering clear of accessories. The look is accentuated with messy long hair and a heavy eye liner.

Sonakshi’s daunting avatar has us floored and how! The Force 2 actress rocked an ultimate black grunge look with a black graphic tank top, black fitted jeggings and black boots and a long black shrug. With the fashion staple, a basic black choker, her long hair open and minimalist makeup with sharp eyes, Sonakshi perfected the look! Imbibing the essence of grunge, we applaud Sonakshi’s stylist for nailing the look to the T. We absolutely love her tie-up boots that lend the classic grunge vibe to her ensemble.

Meanwhile, in a stark contrast to Sonakshi’s look, Soha Ali Khan donned a white graphic tee with a pair of faded ripped denim and sporty sneakers. Leaving her hair open, Soha’s demure meets grunge avatar pales in comparison to Sonakshi’s. Soha took to Instagram, sharing a picture captioned ‘Grunge Girl’. So how do we think Soha could have popped up her grunge game? For starters, by steering clear of the much-needed eye makeup and the fashion staple accessory, a choker, Soha looks simple and chic but fails to nail the grunge avatar. Secondly, a casual shrug or jacket thrown in could have lent the grunge vibes. And lastly, the shoes just don’t blend in with the look and end of looking cute instead of edgy.

With a dressed up grunge look, Sonakshi is our grunge bae and with a dressed down grunge look, Soha is not our typical grunge bae but still the girl next door trying hard to break free! Who is your grunge bae?
