Raising over $900 for the charity, senior students were sponsored for their crazy costumes and the number of laps they could take of the oval by the end of the day.
A skinny santa and his unusually tall elf braved the heat, along with a creepy skeleton in a onesie and three peas in a pod who shared a cape. A friendly group of water gun-carrying soldiers helped keep everyone cool as they racked up the laps.
Friends and Vinnies council members Zac Nedianu, Nick Mijic and Neil Angelico Sibul agreed that it was an event worth waiting for and that it was important to help the less fortunate.
“It gets better every year,” Zac said. Neil said the funds would help homeless people during the holiday season and said he hoped it would make people happy.
