Sandhu was earlier given clean chit by CBI in the case. CBI sources claimed that the lab technician was likely aware of Swaroop’s intentions, but was not complicit in the crime.
ADJ-9 Anmol Pal Singh on Saturday, apart from framing charges, the has fixed December 23 as the next date of hearing in the case on which Neha’s father Richpal Sharma will be giving his statements.
In its chargesheet filed in the court of the Additional Sessions Judge-9 (Agra) earlier in January, the probe agency said Swaroop had raped and killed the young woman when she was alone in the lab.
Agra Police had earlier slapped murder charges against Sandhu, the lab technician. The CBI chargesheet lifted those charges and maintained that Swaroop and Neha Sharma were the only ones present at the spot at the time of the crime.
