Veena Shetty wants to make it big in K'town

The actress claims that she always wanted to try her luck in K'Town.

Actress Veena Shetty who has been part of the Telugu and Kannada movie industries is yet to get a big break. However, the excitement that Veena shows towards films has brought her to Kollywood. She has donned the khaki in Shakthi P Vasu’s Tharkappu, directed by RP Ravi, and is looking forward to a promising 2017.

Speaking to DC, Veena says, “ I play Priya Anand’s elder sister in Rajadurai’s Muthuramalingam. I will be appearing in scenes with Priya and Gautham. Since I am used to playing village roles, this role was easy for me to portray. I wanted a proper launch pad in Tamil and Muthuramalingam seemed to be the best pick.”

The actress claims that she always wanted to try her luck in K’Town. “I feel that Tamil films are more natural and picturised in a realistic manner. Even though I have acted in Telugu and Kannada, I feel that there will be more scope for performance in Tamil,” she quips.

Veena has been roped in to play the lead role in Thamizhan fame Majid’s upcoming film. This untitled venture will be a heroine-oriented film. Also, she has been signed on by RP Ravi for a project that will be based on a real-life incident that happened in Chennai recently.
