LUCKNOW: Over 500 students were found with double
enrolment during the final registration process of Dr
APJ Kalam Technical University (
AKTU) on Sunday.
AKTU programming team, headed by VC
Vinay Kumar Pathak, found the failing students of first year to have taken admission in another college without obtaining the migration/transfer certificate from their present college.
“The software detected that over 500 students were pre-existing students of the university,” said programmer,
Dev Vrat, adding that these students have taken admission in the new college without getting their previous admission cancelled.
Anomalies were detected on the basis of similar photographs and information on Aadhaar cards of students.
“Students who don’t want to repeat a year, do this. There are only six students who have taken migration/TC before enrolling in another college,” added Vrat.
“The software has a check list. Every information is cross-checked before giving enrolment number to students. Students found with double enrolment will not be given the final enrolment number,” said VC Vinay Kumar Pathak.
“Strict action will be taken against the defaulters. Probe has been ordered in to the incident,” he said.
