Youth convicted in 2013 eyewitness murder case

One of the accused in the case has also been booked in connection with the murder of gangster Vicky Tyagi, who was shot dead in a court room in the district on February 16, 2015.

A juvenile court in Muzaffarnagar has convicted a youth for killing an eyewitness outside a sessions court in 2013. The court, however, Saturday ordered the release of the now 20-year-old youth as he had already served the maximum punishment of three years in a correction home, for the crime.

The delinquent was held guilty under Section 302 (murder) of IPC for shooting dead former gram pradhan Devender, who was an eyewitness in a murder case, outside the sessions court here on July 11, 2013.

The police had registered a case against five persons including the youth in this connection. The remaining four accused are being tried in another court.

One of the accused in the case has also been booked in connection with the murder of gangster Vicky Tyagi, who was shot dead in a court room in the district on February 16, 2015.
