Arjun Rampal, Sujoy Ghosh thought producers would not invest money on them

The team of Kahaani 2, starring Vidya Balan and Arjun Rampal in the lead, has ended its shooting here.

Actor Arjun Rampal revealed that he and director Sujoy Ghosh were to team up before they joined hands for Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh but felt producers will not risk their money on them. “He (Sujoy) knows me since many years. We were planning to do a film together four-five years back it was called Teen…not the TE3N he made now,” Arjun told PTI.

“It (Teen) was his idea, he wanted to develop it. It was a different film, it was a big budget mega film. I don’t think anybody wanted to put that kind of money on me and Sujoy at that time so it did not happen,” he said. The 44-year-old actor said he is hopeful they will be able to work on the project someday.

When asked if it is a action film Arjun said, “It has lot of things in it. May be will do it in future.” The Rock On actor said if Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh does well at the box office, producers might agree to invest in their pending project.

“I have always told him (Sujoy) to make it (film) as it’s a beautiful script. And he agrees with me. If ‘Kahaani 2.’ works really well then may be people will start believing in us. May be we will call it ‘Triple’ (referring to their film),” he added. In the second instalment of 2012 hit Kahaani, Arjun plays the role of a cop. Featuring Vidya Balan in lead, the film hits cinema houses on December 2.
