Petrol pump staff killed in road accident

LUCKNOW: A petrol filling station employee died in a road accident while his friend escaped with injuries in Kakori on Saturday.
Manendra (22) of Hardoi worked at a petrol filling station in Jehta village of Kakori. Around 2pm, he, along with his friend Dharmendra, left on the bike to run some errands. When they reached Kaliya Kheda village, a speeding truck knocked the bike down.
The impact was strong enough to fling Manendra in the air. Commuters rushed him to the KGMU Trauma Centre where the doctors declared him brought dead. Dharmendra suffered multiple fractures. Police arrested the errant truck driver identified as Salamuddin of Unnao. A case has been registered in this connection.
