KOCHI: Expressing concern over the delay in the trial of Ameerul Islam, the migrant labourer charged with murdering and raping her daughter, Jisha's mother said if the case gets bogged down Ammerul might escape noose just like Govindachami.
Speaking to mediapersons Jisha's mother said: "I am waiting for the day when justice will be delivered to me. Ameer has to be hanged till death," she said.
Commenting on Jisha's father's move to approach the high court seeking a CBI probe, Rajeshwari said he was hardly present to meet the needs of the family and that he spent the household income on booze.
Jisha's father K V Pappu had alleged that the investigation was not conducted by the police in a proper and fair manner. However Rajeshwar said: "I want to trust the police. They spent sleepless hours away from their homes and families to get to the bottom of the case."
She also objected to the use of English in court proceedings. She said the proceedings were incomprehensible to her as the lawyers were communicating in English and were using jargons that were beyond her understanding.
"I wanted to understand what was happening while my daughter's case was being presented," said Rajeshwari.
