THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The KSRTC employees' association affiliated to CITU will launch 'Save KSRTC' campaign, under which the union would 'adopt' five depots of the transport corporation. Thottilpalam, Chittur, Muvattupuzha, Kayamkulam and Neyyattinkara would be developed into model depots by January 2017 through the month-long campaign.
The initiative envisages regular meetings by the union on measures to improve the service from the depots and increase revenue.

"Along with long-term plans, short-term projects to increase operational profit will yield great results. It is a great initiative by the union, which is organized with public participation," said minister for finance Thomas Isaac, who inaugurated a workshop held as part of the campaign at KSRTC Employees' Association Hall here on Wednesday.
Talking about government support for the initiative, Isaac said availability of required inventory and appointment of adequate staff would be ensured.
