LUDHIANA: Two years after a youth was found dead near a government school at village Daad, Sadar Police registered a murder case after the father of the deceased filed a writ petition in the high court.
The accused were identified as Deepa and Happy of Daad village. In his police complaint, Bhupinder Singh of Daad village, father of deceased Damandeep Singh (22), said his son worked as a security guard. He added that on 2 November 2014, after returning from night duty , his son was at home when the two accused called him at around 12noon and took him with them.
The complainant said that as he did not return until late in the night on the same day , they got worried and started searching for him.

He added that on the next day , he even asked the accused persons the whereabouts of his son, as they had taken him with them, but they did not give any concrete answer, and la er fled from the village. Bhupinder Singh further said that on the same day , they found the dead body of his son behind a school in the village. He added hat his son had six injury marks on his head, and a syringe was lying near his body .
The complainant said that after informing the police, hey filed inquest proceedings under Section 174 of CrPC. He added that the duo had murdered his son. The complainant said that even he approached senior police officers and made many rounds of Sadar police station, but the murder case was not registered. He added that later, the viscera report received by them in July last year also confirmed that he was poisoned, but the police did not act in the case.

Bhupinder Singh said after that, he was forced to file a case in the high court, which issued orders to the police recently to lodge a murder case, after which Sadar police registered a case. Police have registered a case under sections 302 (murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC. SHO Sadar police station Satwant Singh said the accused are at large, and a manhunt has been launched to arrest them.
