Two-day drive to open bank accounts under Jan Dhan scheme

RAJKOT: Junagadh district administration has started a drive to open new bank accounts for labourers and people who are working in the unorganized sector under the Jan Dhan Scheme with zero balance.
Junagadh collector Rahul Gupta called upon bankers and co-operative bank leaders in this regard.
“The drive has been launched for two days where in people who receive their wages in cash will get chance to open bank accounts.The drive will bring unbanked people into the banking sector. People, especially those living in rural areas and not having bank accounts, will get chance to open new accounts,” said a Junagadh district official.
The drive was launched in Bhesan, Keshod, Mangrol, Vanthali, Junagadh, Manavadar, Maliya, Mendarda and Visavadar talukas of Junagadh.
