Young Malang Theatre group presented the play “Kuch Tan Karo Yaaron” at Punjab Naatshala as part of the weekend theatre. The play directed by Saajan Kapoor has been written by Pali Bhupinder.

Centered on a family and the pain of aging parents, left alone by their children, the story also comments on the red tapism, corrupt officials and struggles of common man with getting things done in India.

“The political system of our country has always bred corruption and injustice, where the common man is left to bear the brunt of ambitions of power hungry netas and their chamchas. Though the story might look like a family drama, but weaved with the emotions is the story of a common man, struggling to survive in the nexus of corrupt officials, political leaders and police,” said Saajan Kapoor.

Punjab Naatshala also announced the second edition of “Poorvottar Rang Mahostav”, the north-east theatre festival to be held from December 1 to 4. The festival will be held in Delhi, Jammu, Amritsar and Bengaluru.

Critically acclaimed plays from Assam and Manipur will be staged during the four days festival. Despite language barrier, the first edition of the festival received tremendous response from audience in the city.
