Dehradun, November 25
Activists of the Uttarakhand Parivartan Party (UPP) have extended support to Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) jawans’ hunger strike.
UPP state president PC Tiwari today said the party supported the PRD’s “genuine” demands wherein inquiry into the 80 appointments had been sought as “norms were thrown to the wind during the recruitment process”.
Meanwhile, the protesters threatened to intensify their agitation in case the state government didn’t accede to their demands.
PRD jawans, under the aegis of the PRD Welfare Association, gathered at directorate office as usual. They raised slogans against the state government. They said unqualified and undeserving PRD jawans were appointed to the Secretariat by bypassing rules. —TNS
