Democrats

Democrats refers to the members or followers of the Democratic Party, which is one of the two major political parties operating in the United States. The Democratic Party was founded in 1828 by supporters of Andrew Jackson, and has been primarily opposed by the Republican Party since the 1860s. Since the 1930s, Democrats have mostly supported a social liberal platform, instigated by the New Deal and the subsequent decline of the party’s pro-business faction. In terms of registered members, the Democratic Party is the largest in the country and third largest in the world.
