DODA: Two persons were arrested and an anganwadi storekeeper was booked today for selling ration meant for poor children enrolled in anganwadi centres on the black market in the Gandho sub-division of Doda.

Two persons were arrested and an anganwadi storekeeper was booked today for selling ration meant for poor children enrolled in anganwadi centres on the black market in the Gandho sub-division of Doda.

Acting on a tip-off, a police party headed by Sub-Inspector Nazir Ahmed Rishu conducted a special naka. During checking, the police seized a mini-truck loaded with 97 bags of rice of anganwadi ration.

Shopkeeper Fayaz Ahmed of Butt Market, Tilotran, and Bilal Ahmed of Halode have been arrested.

However, the main accused, Surjeet Singh Chouhan, the storekeeper of the anganwadi centre at Gandho, is still absconding.
