Jammu, November 25

The Gujjar community has welcomed the decision of Prasar Bharati for starting a morning news bulletin in Gojri language on Radio Kashmir (Jammu). Community leaders said it will help in countering the propaganda of Pakistani radio stations.

BJP leader and Scheduled Tribe (ST) Morc-ha member Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal expressed gratitude to Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Prasar Bharati, Suresh Chandra Panda for starting the news bulletin. Poswal said in the absence of Internet and mobile services in remote areas, the move was very important for the people.

“The radio is only powerful medium of dissemination of information and news in tribal areas and this is indeed a great move by the government,” Poswal said.

He demanded that government should start a similar bulletin on Doordarshan Kashmir and Jammu so that the impact of Pakistan television in border areas could be nullified.
