Urs of Makhdoom Sahib observed

SRINAGAR: The 453rd annual Urs of Hazrat Sultan-ul-Arifeen, Sheik Hamza Makhdoom, popularly known as Makkhdoom Sahib, was observed across the Kashmir valley today after special prayers last night.

The 453rd annual Urs of Hazrat Sultan-ul-Arifeen, Sheik Hamza Makhdoom, popularly known as Makkhdoom Sahib, was observed across the Kashmir valley today after special prayers last night.

The Urs was observed with religious festivity at Tujjar Sharief in Baramulla district, Aham-e-Sharief in Bandipora district and the shrine at Kohi Maraaan Hills in Srinagar. The main shrine associated with the Sufi saint is located at Tujjar Sharief near Sopore in north Kashmir.

A large number of devotees, including men, women and children, participated in the night-long special prayers at the shrines of Makhdoom Sahib throughout last night. The devotees, braving severe cold, offered the special night-long prayers at the shrines of Makhdoom and other places.
