Dear Zindagi’s teasers have made us super-excited to see Shahrukh Khan play psychologist Jehangir or Jug and Alia Bhatt’s Kaira, a budding cinematographer, in the slice of life film this weekend. After getting disappointed in her search for the perfect life, Kaira crosses paths with Jug, who teaches her to view life with an unconventional outlook. From there, Kaira goes on a soul-searching journey and along the way, realises that happiness can even be found in life’s imperfections.

This is director Gauri Shinde’s second offering since English Vinglish and by the look of the teasers, Dear Zindagi is going to thrill audiences just like her debut project did. The movie has received a positive response from films and critics alike, not just for the lead pair’s performance, but also the sold support it gets from Ira Dubey, Kunal Kapoor, Ali Zafar and Angad Bedi. Arijit Singh shines in the film’s peppy soundtrack, particularly in the track Tu Hi Hai and Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le.

Dear Zindagi box office collection day 5: Thanks to the star power of Alia Bhatt and Shahrukh Khan, the film has gone on to earn Rs 40 crore over all. On its fifth day, it raked in Rs 4 crore, which is a slight dip from its day 4 (Monday) revenue. However, the film has overtaken the earnings of director Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish, which earned Rs 40 crore during its whole run at the box office. Dear Zindagi’s performance has been quite steady at the box office, and the film will probably settle at the Rs 60 crore mark, according to Bollywood Hungama.

Dear Zindagi box office day 4: Dear Zindagi has raked in Rs 4.2 crore at the box office on Monday. While this might seem like a dip from its Rs 12 crore earnings on Sunday, the film is performing quite well overall. So far, it has managed to earn Rs 36.75 crore at the box office and that’s not even counting its success abroad. In one neat swoop, the film has proved people with doubts of demonetization and niche content wrong. After inking a spectacular opening weekend collection, Dear Zindagi collection predictions of the past can be junked. The new figure that is likely to be achieved by the massively successful Shahrukh Khan and Alia Bhatt starrer is Rs 60 crore. It is also likely to get a boost as the demonetisation driven cash crunch eases over the coming days and people have more money to spend in their wallets on luxuries too, rather than saving their small denomination notes for essentials like food and medicine.

Dear Zindagi opening weekend collections: Shahrukh Khan and Alia Bhatt have powered this ‘niche’ film to the top of the 2016 Bollywood list! That is a superb performance. According to initial reports, Dear Zindagi opening week collection is as high as Rs 32 crore. It is likely to see a bit of a jump after the final tally is complete. Accoridng to analysts the movie has entered into an over-performing zone. In the process, Dear Zindagi has given yet anothet big success to Karan Johar whose Ae Dil Hai Mushkil did very well indeed at the box office and brought Ranbir Kapoor back from the brink of Bollywood disasters.

However, considering that the movie has been released in metros, people have taken to digital payments in large numbers, the effect has not been debilitating.

Shahrukh Khan and Alia Bhatt starrer earned Rs 11.25 cr on Saturday for a total of Rs 20 cr earnings in domestic market. Dear Zindagi box office collections on opening day: The movie has started in as spectacular a manner as was expected by analysts. The occupancy rate is over 60% at the moment in metros and slightly lower elsewhere with multiplexes leading from the front.  Dear Zindagi occupancy rate will improve during the evening shows. Theorising from this point, the likely total is going to be in excess of Rs 15 cr for the movie on day 1 – only a special effort will see it going over Rs 20 cr mark. If you recall, then way back in December, 2015, ‘Dilwale’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol had got an overall opening day occupancy rate in excess of 65%. More recently in April, 2016, SRK’s release ‘Fan’ had pulled in as much as Rs 31 cr worldwide gross with the India take alone at Rs 19.20 cr. However, Fan had a lot going for it. Check this out: Cost of Production Rs. 85 cr + Print & Publicity Rs. 20 cr; Fan released across 4600+ screens worldwide (India Screen Count – 3500+ International Screen Count – 1100+). Dear Zindagi has released in just 1100 screens and was made on a budget of Rs 30 cr.

Dear Zindagi movie review: There’s no doubt Shahrukh Khan and Alia Bhatt put on a show worth watching in Dear Zindagi and that itself is a reason to watch it. Shahrukh gracefully puts his superstar status to a side and let’s the film rest of Alia’s capable shoulders. It’s fresh storyline wavers a little bit and stretched scenes and heavy dialogue can be somewhat tiresome. Overall, Dear Zindagi won’t disappoint moviegoers, but whether it’ll go down as a classic is debatable.

Dear Zindagi music review: Alia Bhatt and Shahrukh Khan starrer deserved better

Dear Zindagi music review: The movie promises to be one of the best movies of the year, thanks to its unique storyline and, of course, having the fresh pairing of Alia Bhatt and Shahrukh Khan. But for a film with such star power, most of its songs are at best a pleasant background score and at worst forgettable. This fact is even more surprising when you consider Amit Trivedi’s musical offerings earlier this year. In Fitoor and Udta Punjab, we got Amit at his best and while the songs of Dear Zindagi are not bad, they’re definitely not the top-notch songs we expect from the musician.

Dear Zindagi box office collections predictions:

This Shahrukh Khan and Alia Bhatt starrer has the makings of a super-duper hit. The characters are fresh and the storyline is superb and youth-oriented. From what is on view about the movie, it will click with the masses, especially the youth. This identification with the movie is likely to generate huge amounts at the box office for the movie-makers. This will also be powered by the massive marketing spend of the movie and its release in a huge number of theaters across the country. That amount is likely to transcend the Rs 100 cr mark easily and head straight into the Rs 200 cr category. While Alia Bhatt is sitting pretty in terms of her career, Shahrukh Khan has received a few setbacks with his recent releases and needs a massive hit to regain the sheen that his superstar status had till recently.
