Amid criticism and uproar over the implementation of the demonetisation policy by the Narendra Modi government, Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh expressed her support for the Prime Minister and his newly implemented policy. In a video shared on Twitter, by the CMO Maharashtra, the actress said that the initiative taken by the Modi-government is a positive step towards the betterment of Indian economy.

Citing the rise in the flow of black money in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on November 8, had initiated the demonetisation policy, following which there had been a ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes. There had been a chaotic situation within the country since the implementation of the note-ban policy, with people trying to replace their scrapped currency notes with usable cash from banks and ATMs. And even after two weeks of implementation, several people are still seen standing in ‘never-ending’ queues. waiting for hours, outside banks and ATMs, to cash out usable currency notes for their basic needs.

With the implementation of the anti-graft policy, political storm heated up in the country and opposition parties locked horns with the central government over the issue. Blaming the Prime Minister and the central government for creating public distress and depriving people of their own money, political leaders continued protests and criticism over the note-ban policy. Amid heated arguments and political uproar, the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha had been witnessing repeated adjournments, with opposition leaders raising voices claiming the Prime Minister’s presence in the parliamentary house.

Over continuing uproar by opposition leaders, criticising the government for a wrong implementation, Narendra Modi, at the parliament today claimed that the opposition leaders are blaming the government because they are agitated since the implementation of the policy came all of a sudden and the opposition were not ready for it.
