Demonetisation good but its implementation a bit flawed, says Jaya Bachchan

Samajwadi Party's Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan has taken a potshot at Narendra Modi government's demonetisation initiative and said all will become "swargwasi" in 50 days.

Jaya Bachchan was alluding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement in which he demanded 50 days and said the inconveniences due to demonetisation will get over after that period.

To buttress her point, the actor-turned-politician quoted a social media message which said, "Bharat 50 din baad swarg ban jayega aur hum sab swargwasi (India will become heaven while the people will be dead after 50 days)."

Incidentally, Jaya Bachchan is the lone member in her family to oppose demonetisation initiative. Others, such as her husband Amitabh Bachchan, son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, have supported the drive.

However, on the demonetisation move, she said her stand was in line with that of her Samajwadi Party. "The intention (of launching demonetisation) is good but (its) preparedness is a bit flawed," she said.
