Hero Cycles unveiled four e-cycles with Electric Pedal Assisted Technology (EPAC). The e-cycles were introduced under the Lectro brand in the country and all priced between INR 42,000 and INR 83,000. These bikes are offered with a detachable lithium-ion battery which can be charged at home in a matter of 4 hours with which it can run for over 50 kms. It consists of a three point LED indicator which displays level of charge in the battery.
Hero Cycles introduced these four models in Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai and NCR in the first phase while in the second phase launch is planned in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra will by end of the year.
The Lectro EPAC’s are the first in a series of Hero’s European brand launches in India. The company plans as many as 20 such EPAC products over the next few months and the products have been launched in India at a time when both health and environment experts are spearheading the urgent need for eco-friendly transport facilities in a bid to bring down air pollution which is rising at an alarming rate.
The Lectro range includes Ozone, priced at INR 42,050, Spark that is been priced at INR 81,150 and top-of-the-line Renew priced at INR 83,050.
