Chinese man’s body found drifting in Ho Chi Minh City river

The decomposing body of a Chinese man has been found among hyacinth floating near a ferry in the Saigon River in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.  Some local fishermen discovered the body at about 10:30 am on Thursday in the river section that runs through the Binh Quoi ferry in the district’s Ward 28. The fishermen said when they were casting a net on the river they were surprised to see an object which looked like a human body among a cluster of hyacinth floating on the water. They approached the object and realized it was the body of a man wearing a white T-shirt and a black pair of trousers. They immediately reported the discovery to local authorities, who sent rescuers to the scene to retrieve the body. According to some papers found from the body, the man was identified as Loi Minh Ky (translated into Vietnamese), 50, who had Chinese nationality and resided in District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, authorities said. Local police are investigating the death.
