MANGALURU: Bengaluru will host the three-day Creativity World Forum (CWF), an annual conference of District of Creativity Networ,k at Palace Grounds from November 28.
Based on the theme 'Cities In Transition', the conference will be held along with BengaluruITe.biz and focus on energy and environment, healthcare, mobility solutions, governance, education and other areas.
Jayant Nadiger, trade and investment commissioner of Flanders, Belgium said, founded in 2004, the DC has 13 creative and innovative regions around the world as its members.
Creativity and Innovation Platform of Karnataka is one among them. The CWF will bring together progressive thinkers, experts, inventors, practitioners, innovators, thought leaders and entrepreneurs.
Billed as the largest creativity and innovation conference in the world, CWF-2016 seeks to marshal growing number of smart communities to come together and suggest solutions to issues important to them. The event will present authoritative talks by some of the world's most creative minds and will provide an opportunity to network with people from respective field and beyond.
Noting that he has been interacting with local stakeholders who could make it to the CWF-2016 or strive to gain from the expertise of Flanders region of Belgium, known for its cutting edge technology, Jayant, said he had interactions with New Mangalore Port Trust and the College of Fisheries during his visit. Brussels, the sea food capital of Europe, can offer a lot to the fisheries sector and NMPT in dredging technology.
On Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stress on Make In India, he said this has been happening since 2012 and it will get a fillip now. The introduction of GST will also help foreign companies to start production in India. The coastal region too will benefit if it is able to address hinterland connectivity issues, Jayant said referring to local opportunities.
