Amt’s Shivaji College wins drama fest

NAGPUR: Shivaji Arts and Commerce College, Amravati, won the first prize for its play ‘14 Aprilchi Ratra’ staged during Purushottam Karandak intercollegiate drama competition held in the city recently. The competition was organized by Maharashtriya Kalopasak, Pune. Four winners from this round will be called for the state-level competition to be held in Pune from December 8 to 11.

Yogesh Desai was the chief guest of the event. The judges were Sanjay Shete from Pune and Dilip Mule and Prabha Deuskar from Nagpur. Trustee of Maharashtriya Kaloposak Anant Nighojkar, Yogesh Jadhav and local coordinator Sanjay Pendse were present.
The second prize went to ‘Dardpora’ presented by LAD College, Shankar Nagar while the third to ‘Anolkhi Olakh’ by CP and Berar College. The prize for best experimental play went to ‘Srujan 001’ of Cummins College of Engineering for Women. The best acting award was given to Vaibhav Ogale for ‘14 Aprilchi Ratra’, best director award to Gaurav Shrirang for ‘Cursed King’, best vocal performance to Ganesh Wankhede for ‘14 Aprilchi Ratra’, acting prize to Saurabh Hirkane for ‘Punchlight’ from Renaissance College and Ketki Kulkarni for ‘Dardpora’ from LAD College, Shankar Nagar.
