DPS Ranipur wins music contest

Students of Delhi Public School, Ranipur, brought laurels to the state by bagging the national Inter-DPS Hindustani Music Competition held at Delhi Public School, Rama Krishan Puram, New Delhi, recently.

Schools from across the country were scrutinised after preliminary leg competitions, after which they were divided into 6 zones. A total of 28 teams participated in the final leg from these 6 zones.

DPS, Ranipur, were adjudged the winners in the chorus vocal Hindustani classical music category,.

Principal of DPS, Ranipur, KC Pandey said the school would felicitate the winning team members as they had brought laurels to the school as well as the entire state.

He said special emphasis was being given on the overall personality development of students from academics, sports, yoga, music, adventure sports, creativity, arts to co-curricular activities.

The trophy was presented to the winning team by VK Shanghlu, chairperson, DPS Society. The team was comprised of Avani, Aaylin Poorti, Ananya Atre, Avijit Saxena, Madhav Kapur, Keerti Gaur, Dhruv Verma, Sneha Roy and Tarang Bansal.

“It’s a great feeling to win championship. We worked hard, dedicated hours for practice session and owe to the Almighty, family members and especially musical department in-charge Hemant Pathak who guided and motivated us,” said Ananya.

Assistant dance teacher Dolly Bisht said the competition was quite tough but the Ranipur school students kept their poise to ensure they bag the trophy
