BHAGALPUR: The Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) and Vishwanath Singh Institute of Legal Studies (VSILS) employees are in for trouble with the Delhi Police likely to submit its charge-sheet in connection with the alleged irregularities in issuing an LLB degree to AAP MLA and former Delhi law minister Jitendar Singh Tomar.
The charge-sheet is likely to be filed against 19 persons though the TMBU's internal inquiry report had prima facie held only 14 employees, including some retired ones, responsible for the omissions and commissions in the case.

This was indicated by a three-member Delhi Police team, which was in Bhagalpur on Thursday to quiz afresh the TMBU employees. The Delhi police officers also expressed dissatisfaction at the TMBU cooperation to them in bringing the case to a logical end.
Tomar, who had claimed to have got the degree as a regular student of of VSILS under TMBU from 1994 to 1998, made headlines as allegations surfaced that he never attended classes. The degree was issued to Tomar in September 2012 for which requisite fee was deposited at TMBU.
A petition was filed in the Delhi High Court in February 2015, alleging Tomar's degreees were illegal. It was based on a reply to a query made under the RTI Act from Avadh University (Faizabad). The university said it had not awarded Tomar the BSc degree on the basis of which Tomar had secured admission to the law course at the VSILS.
TMBU vice-chancellor Prof R S Dubey said the Delhi Police's probe team sought some documents from the university and cross-examined some officials, including retired ones.
