What do you do when you spot Arnab Goswami in track pants standing next to a red Lamborghini parked on the roadside at Worli Sea-Face and a bunch of traffic cops in one picture? If you have a complicated relationship with Times Now’s Newshour, like nearly half the country, you are probably jumping with glee thinking Goswami is a badass, super rich speed freak who just got busted by traffic cops.
And if you are an Indian cricket fan, you immediately jump on to Twitter and live out all your troll fantasies by slamming Goswami on the social media site.
For example the gentlemen below:
Why mass media is against AAP..bcz they earn 100s of CR's by taking supari..see this Arnab's car pic.twitter.com/H1oGDWrivW

Nation wants to know Mr. Arnab why you were overSpeeding in your 2 crore car!! pic.twitter.com/D0Xkqg86Kg
However, The Times Group soon burst the bubble reporting that Goswami had actually reported a man for over-speeding, who was then booked by the cops. That explains why he was present alongside the car and the traffic policemen.
TOI reported, “Goswami told the police that the person drove a Lamborghini at a very high speed on the Bandra-Worli sea. The police then registered an FIR and arrested Samvit Ramesh Tara (39), a Juhu resident.”
While it is not clear where the picture surfaced first, Times of India credited the photo to Reddit India. Soon after the news broke, people took to Twitter to laud Goswami for being the ‘model citizen’.
