Red Bull's Max Verstappen says he's not letting praise go to his head as he looks to finish the Formula 1 season on a high in Abu Dhabi

Red Bull's Max Verstappen says he is not letting the praise after his stunning wet-weather drive in Brazil go to his head.

The Dutchman stole the headlines after a number of phenomenal overtaking moves in treacherous conditions at Interlagos.

The drive saw Verstappen compared to Ayrton Senna in the wet at Monaco, while Red Bull boss Christian Horner described it as "one of the best drives in F1 history".

"It is important to stay very neutral," Verstappen told Sky Sports News HQ.

"It is very nice to have those compliments, but for me it is just important to focus on what is important and that is to drive fast on the track over and over again, not just one single weekend."

Asked what keeps him grounded he replied: "My dad and my friends."

Verstappen and Red Bull team-mate Daniel Ricciardo could be Lewis Hamilton's 'best-friends' in Abu Dhabi, if they are able to get ahead of Nico Rosberg.

The Mercedes team-mates are duelling over the world title and even if he wins the race, Hamilton needs Rosberg to be fourth or lower. So could the Red Bulls get among the Silver Arrows?

"In the wet it is easier for us to be in between, in the dry we need a bit of luck as well to get in between them," said Verstappen.
