LUCKNOW: The ABVP rally at Colvin Taluqdars' College led to massive jams on the main routes in the city from 9am to 3pm on Wednesday.
Jams were reported from Polytechnic crossing, Munshipulia crossing, Faizabad Road, Badshahnagar, Nishatganj, Paper Mill colony, Samtamulak crossing, Lohia Path, Hazratganj, Charbagh, Telibagh, KD Singh Babu stadium, Ashok Marg and Rana Pratap Marg.
"We were stuck for over two hours as the route from Samtamulak crossing to Nishatganj was choked," said Mohammed Rizwan, who was heading for a relative's funeral in Nishatganj.

College student Sonal Mathur said the administration should evolve a better system of traffic management and check jams which are now a routine. I have been waiting for over two hours at IT College crossing but no transport is available," she told TOI.
"It got stuck between Aliganj and Hazratganj in the morning and missed an important meeting at office. Even advance information about diversions does not help as alternative routes, too, get blocked," said Ritesh Gautam, a commuter.
It took Kalpana Tewari, a government employee who commutes from Indiranagar to Kaiserbagh, three hours to reach office. On normal days it takes 40 minutes. "There was utter chaos at Badshahnagar crossing and no policeman was present to regulate the traffic," she said. School vans were also stuck in jams at Charbagh and Hazratganj. "It becomes difficult to manage children as they begin to cry. No rally should be allowed in the city," said Vimlesh Yadav, a van driver .
