MHA joint secretary meets industrialists for feedback

In an unannounced and surprise visit to Ludhiana, Daleep Kumar, joint secretary , ministry of home affairs, met city industrialists for an interaction on Tuesday .The agenda of the meeting held at the office of Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) was to take the feedback about the demonetisation move of the Union government.

LUDHIANA: In an unannounced and surprise visit to Ludhiana, Daleep Kumar, joint secretary , ministry of home affairs, met city industrialists for an interaction on Tuesday .The agenda of the meeting held at the office of Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) was to take the feedback about the demonetisation move of the Union government.
The office-bearers and members of CICU informed Kumar that poor execution and implementation of demonetization of currency is causing a lot of trouble to micro, small & medium industry .Due to less availability of cash, production and sales in factories have been highly affected and industry is facing acute shortage of factory workers as they are busy getting cash exchanged at banks and post offices.

Industrialists also urged the joint secretary to relax cap on cash withdrawals for businessmen, ensure faster supply of requisite currency to banks, finish the recalibration of ATMs on war footing, provide micro ATMs at offices of industrial associations for businessmen and labour and also introduce other innovative solutions to mitigate problems being faced by industrial sector. CICU also demanded that action be taken against officials who are responsible for poor execution and implementation of this scheme.
Meanwhile, Kumar thanked the industrialists for their inputs and assured them that their suggestions will be conveyed to the government. Those present in the meeting included president of CICU Avtar Singh, general secretary Upkar Singh Ahuja and industrialists O P Bassi, Phuman Singh, Anand Kumar, Yashpal Gosain, Kanish Kaura, Sanjay Dhiman, Panjak Sharma, Honey Sethi, Rajnish Ahuja.
