BHOPAL: After a favourable public response during recent bypoll post demonetisation, BJP is eyeing on two more seats, one is Ater assembly constituency in Bhind district, which was won by Congress leader late Satyadev Katare and the other is Bandhavgarh assembly constituency, where BJP minister Gyan Singh was elected during 2013 assembly elections.
After winning Shahdol Lok Sabha bypoll, Gyan Singh will soon resign from Bandhavgarh constituency while, the Ater seat fell vacant following the demise of Katare on October 21.

According to sources in the election commission, bypolls for both the seats are likely to be held in March 2017 during assembly elections in five states, including Uttar Pradesh.
In 2008, BJP leader Arvind Bhadoria won Ater seat from Katare but, could not retain the same due to unfavourable caste equation. Katare wrested this seat from BJP despite `Modi wave' during 2013 assembly polls.
In Bandhavgarh, BJP is enthused over public response to Gyan Singh, who won Shahdol Lok Sabha bypoll on November 22 by a margin of 60,383 votes. Gyan Singh got 58,998 votes against his Congress rival Himadri Singh who could fetch only 53,757 votes in Bandhavgarh assembly constituency, which is a part of Shahdol Lok Sabha seat in the bypoll.
Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who was star campaigner of the Shahdol bypoll said, public gave an overall support to BJP candidate in Bandhavgarh and other constituencies, except Pushprajgarh, the Congress bastion, which shows how BJP had made inroads in the constituency. The party has already won the hearts of the voters.
Congress is yet to plan a strategy for the two seats.
