Twitterati takes a dig at Parthiv Patel's inclusion in the Indian Test Cricket team

Today morning BCCI announced two changes in the Indian Cricket team for the third test of the ongoing series against England. Wriddhiman Saha was dropped from the squad because of a strained thigh and Parthiv Patel was announced as his replacement.

Yes, you’re right this boy-faced cricketer who became the youngest wicketkeeper made his debut in 2002 almost 3 years before MS Dhoni made it to the team. He last played a Test match 8 years ago and was almost forgotten as an international cricketer. He hardly seems to be the best replacement for Wriddhiman Saha who is prolific with the bat as well as great behind the stumps.  Parthiv Patel will not be able to keep this stint for long as Wriddhiman Saha has almost carved a niche for himself in the team. However, the news of his recall took people by surprise and there was a deluge of brilliant reactions on Twitter.

People very mercilessly were talking about how long his career has been.

Some did not spare his height and made the obvious jokes.

Then there were a few who related Parthiv Patel’s comeback to the demonetization of Indian currency.

Soon the Patel and Gujarati factor also started making news.

Virat Kohli is the Parthiv’s third captain who debuted after him.

While there were a few who saw some inspiration in the whole matter.

What can we say; all we wish is that he does a good job with his second innings!
