This week John Wight winds the clock back 25 years to the destruction of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Together with Dr Marcus Papadopoulos he examines the role of NATO, the demonization of the Serbs and the key individuals involved in the break-up.

November 1991 marked the end of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, a dissolution which violated the Yugoslav constitution and led to the countries of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia gaining autonomy, and further to this, the independence of Kosovo.

John Wight explores the reasons for the break-up and the later wars which erupted in Croatia and Bosnia.  Speaking with Dr Marcus Papadopoulos he questions the western narrative of the Serbian/Albanian conflict which demonized both the Serbian people and their leader, Slobodan Milosevic. They also discuss the role played by individuals such as Josip Broz Tito and Hans-Dietrich Genscher in Yugoslavia's collapse.
